Why “Summa Vanessae”?

I am a great admirer of St. Thomas Aquinas and of his Summa Theologiae.  Learning about his great synthesis of faith and reason was part of what attracted me to the Catholic Church.  It is, of course, ridiculously presumptuous to name my little blog after the Angelic Doctor’s theological masterpiece.  I mean only to honor St. Thomas by referring to him and his work.

The title “Summa Vanessae” is a play on words:  it can mean either “Vanessa’s Summa” or “summary of Vanessa.”  As a homemaker and homeschooling mother, this blog provides a satisfying outlet for my theological writing inclinations.  It’s fun!
